Throughout the summer of 2014 we’ve been hard at work improving LabStar.  Below please find highlights of the 60+ upgrades we released to the software.  If you have any questions please reach out to us us through one of our 4 contact channels (Help Center, support@labstar.com, 323-522-3120, chat box at the bottom right corner of this page):


  • New basic invoice layout with new header and logo placement
  • New basic invoice footer with barcode and 3” x 2” tear-off mailing label
  • Assign which billing items are non-discountable items (alloys, parts, etc.)
  • Assign up to 2 different taxes to individual billing items and materials
  • 2 customizable fields on invoice include case due date, invoice due date, invoice terms, manufacturer, pan #, received date, and shipped date
  • Consolidated invoices revert back to original invoice dates when unconsolidated
  • FDA-compliant materials tracking
  • Regenerate PDF for individual invoices
  • Add billable materials prior to invoicing
  • QB sync tool updated with new tax settings
  • Technicians can add materials

Invoice popup:

  • New overall design—easier to read case summary information and add additional billing items
  • Discounted prices have cross-out showing exact discount amount
  • New “item-based” discount column for precise price adjustments
  • Add billable materials to invoices with instant search dropdown
  • View and enter case notes
  • Set and update case flags
  • Option to set/change invoice date on popup
  • Include materials information on invoice
  • Clearer presentation of discounts, taxes, shipping & handling
  • Precise tax amounts for each item displayed
  • Prevents users from creating invoice with alloy quantity of $0

Materials Management

  • Add billable items prior to invoicing (implant parts, denture teeth, etc.)
  • Apply tax to individual materials
  • Make individual materials non-discountable
  • Enable markup % on billable materials
  • Link billable materials to items, additional features  and additional products (automatically shows on invoice)

Manufacturing Capacity Manager

  • Enable capacity management based on the following filters:
    • Cases per day
    • Units per day
    • Specific item units (ie, eMax, etc.)
    • Design group units (PFM, Full Cast, etc.)
    • Specific production task units per day (Model, Porcelain, etc.)
    • Specific production task cases per day


  • Show case notes, attachments & case summary to technicians on scan popup
  • Add materials directly from technician scan popup
  • Search case names in technician scan screen
  • Production dashboard displays total units only
  • Added new chart line:  “total units” to the Task Status by Units chart


  • New design and searchbox for finding exactly the right setting
  • Batch update LabStar system settings
  • Batch convert items, additional features & additional products into “Materials”


  • Inbound transit times added to due date when client creates a case
  • New “Shipping Today” report
  • Printing inbound work tickets marks case as “received” on day printed
  • Add default courier and transit time for manufacturers
  • Driver delivery report includes client phone number

Supply Chain/Miscellaneous

  • Dymo LabelWriter case labels
  • Search by pan number in production searches
  • Hide ship button button on create shipment to manufacturer
